23rd April 1986, "West Lancashire Means Business Exhibition"
During the royal couple's tour of the exhibition, the late Princess Diana stops at the Craft Guild stall to to accept a gift of one of my figurines.
1985 '
I exhibited my work at the ' Local Enterprise Fair' organised by Lancashire Polytechnic. (Preston, Lancs)
1986
I helped Mia Davis to form the ' Craft Guild of West Lancs' by putting her in touch with many local craftspeople. As a result of this I was invited to take part in the 'West Lancashire means Business Exhibition' and was lucky enough to speak to both Prince Charles and Princess Diana about my work. The Princess was interested in how I made the figurines. After I had explained this to her I gave her the one I am holding in the photo. It belonged to my niece Tanya but she didn't mind and I made her another one to replace it. ( I hadn't had time to make any for the exhibition because very short notice was given!)
Later the same year some of my ceramics were exhibited in a travelling exhibition to France promoting West Lancashire.
